Le Sirenuse in Positano, Italy
Why I loved it...Le Sirenuse is the kind of hotel that makes you never want to leave. The service was exceptional—they seemed to be five steps ahead of us, anticipating every detail and even turning down our room while we were out and again before we returned. The views are incredible, making it tempting to simply stay in the room and take it all in. Le Sirenuse combines old-world Italian elegance with warm, personal service, along with beautiful design, an iconic pool, incredible breakfast, and genuinely attentive staff. It’s easy to see why it’s one of my all-time favorites.
That’s a hard question! If I had to pick just one, I’d say Vietnam.
Why I'd go back...First of all, picking a favorite destination is almost impossible, but Vietnam makes a very strong case. It has the perfect blend of everything I love about travel—from the rolling green mountains, peaceful lakes, and breathtaking landscapes of Ha Long Bay to incredible food and unforgettable street-food tours in Hanoi. There’s also a fascinating history to uncover, from the Cu Chi Tunnels and war museums to ancient temples, historic cities, and imperial landmarks. And then there’s the shopping—Hoi An is filled with beautiful textiles, handmade goods, and cute, unique fashion. Vietnam somehow manages to combine nature, food, history, culture, and adventure into one incredible destination.
Salmon nigiri at Hakone Kappei near Mount Fuji, Japan. We were on our way to an onsen and stopped for lunch at what looked like a pretty unassuming spot—and wow, was I glad we did! The salmon was so fresh and buttery that it practically melted in my mouth. To this day, it was the best sushi I’ve ever had.
The first photo is the Salmon and Tuna nigiri I mentioned above, but I also had to include a few other photos of the incredible food I tried in Japan because they deserve some shoutouts too. Japan is truly a spectacular destination for any foodie!
This is a tough one! Seeing the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo) on safari in South Africa is definitely at the top of the list, but so hanging out with penguins in Antarctica—pretty hard to beat that! And then there’s Cappadocia, Turkey, which felt like something out of another world. The landscapes were so unique and breathtaking, and seeing it all from a hot air balloon was an experience I’ll never forget!
Australia! It would officially check off my seventh continent, so that feels pretty special. But if I’m making the long trip that far, I’d definitely want to add New Zealand to the adventure, too. The incredible landscapes, hiking, and treks are calling my name!
